America

1. America, America, with your scenes of beauty,
Your buildings gracefly reach up tward the sky,
God surely loves America, to let her keep on growing,
When carelessly the blind man and the beggar shes passed by.

2. Here in this land were living in, milk and honeys flowing,
But still, theres poverty along the street,
Were blinded by our riches, and we cant see where were going,
We fail to hear the soul thats crying, Someone please help me.

3. The blind man on the corner, he needs someone to help him,
To lead him safely to the other side,
My friend, dont be ashamed of him, youll reap just what youre sowing,
Do not let Satan blind your eyes because of foolish pride.

4. The orphan and the widow, friend, do you hear their pleading?
Or do you share your blessings with a smile?
Friend, you had better help someone, for soon, the Lord is coming,
And Hell reward the helpless with His riches from on high.

5. Poor Lazarus, forsaken there, just a hungry beggar,
Remember that the Savior heard his cry,
The blind man, Bartimaeus, was delivered by the Savior,
So friend, drop in a little bit, as you go passing by.

Chorus: Oh, what about me, O friend, where am I going?
What will I do when youre asleep a night?
While in your bed, youre comforted, while the cold winds blowing,
Im a hungry beggar that sits on your streets at night.
